Everyone has a story to tell. Sometimes songs work best with the simplest of arrangements. Hopefully this one reflects that notion. All my own work!
Dedicated to Evie for giving me the first line.

HURT’S FADING BRUISE

I was watching stars
Staring into space
About a million miles away

The universe stood still
Holding in its breath
A new song waiting there to play

There was a chill with a promise of change
Life can be so strange

CHORUS
So tell me your story
And I’ll tell you mine
While we still have time

I was looking lost
Sorry for myself
Dragging everybody down

The writer’s hand was poised
Waiting for the chance
To turn my hopelessness around

There was a warmth in your welcoming smile
Spared me from exile

CHORUS

We left it so late
To catch up with fate
There’s nothing here to lose
But hurt’s fading bruise

CHORUS
