I seem to love writing songs about breakups. Put it down to experience I guess! These two never had a chance.

TWO WORLDS APART

She walks down the stairs
A sadness in her eyes
Whilst storm clouds gather in
Electric summer skies

What she wants and what she needs
Became two different things
Played out in every word she speaks
And every song he sings

CHORUS
And now there’s nothing she can do
The earth just opened up beneath
And split her life in two
It’s always been there in the signs from the start
Two hearts two worlds apart

He climbs up the stairs
Lost for what to say
Suddenly broken down
A full stop on the day

What they thought was made to last
Was just a passing fad
A portrait of an artist
In a sketchy London pad

CHORUS
And now there’s nothing he can do
The earth just opened up beneath
And split his life in two
It’s always been there in the signs from the start
Two hearts two worlds apart

CHORUS
And now there’s nothing they can do
The earth just opened up beneath
And split their lives in two
It’s always been there in the signs from the start
Two hearts two worlds apart
