This woman was once the life and soul of life. Adored, detested and loved in equal measures. Alone and feeling melancholy, she reminisces about her wild past, the dangerous affairs, the dodged bullets and the near misses. Inspired by Costello's 'Veronica', reflection is a common theme in my songwriting as I try to trace my feelings about my own past.

ONE OF A KIND
She lies down eyes close
It’s just another day
Discarded like old clothes
Desires all worn away
But memories invade her dreams
Of who she used to be
The sharpest mind
With cutting edge beauty
CHORUS
She had such fun
With everyone
Just when they thought they’d read her mind
She playfully declined
And then she teased them blind
She was one of a kind
A young her so carefree
Barefoot dancing in the waves
The movie silently
Shows her freedom she now craves
Before too long her youth was gone
The tree had shed its leaves
Battered by responsibilities
CHORUS
Feels likes she’s falling
But no one cares
So she’s recalling
The dangerous affairs
The sad and happy tears
The one too many beers
Lost among the years
An old rose is still beautiful to find
When she’s one of a kind
CHORUS
