Sometimes you can never say the right thing. At other times you can be misinterpreted. And then you can simply lose your rag! Even roses can't be rosy all the time.

SHOT BY MY OWN TONGUE

Standing on a platform
Reflected in a window
Wondering what I’m doing there
I’m opening a door
Just to find the room is empty
Except for your broken stare

And I know
Even roses can’t be rosy all the time
You told me so
Not every mountain is really worth the climb

CHORUS
Wow wow wow
Shot by my own tongue again

My phone keeps lighting up
And I’m counting all your texts
Just to calculate your mood
But the messages are mixed
I can’t read between the lines
So I guess I’m screwed

And I know
Even summer can’t be sunny all the time
Just goes to show
That you’re living in a different world to mine

CHORUS

It’s no surprise I lost
When winning's what you want at all cost

I thought I’d get away
With the benefit of doubt
That’s what I gave to you
But your rules are not the same
When you’re very highly strung
You just snap out of the blue

And I know
Even perfect moments have to end
When you go
There’s no need to pretend

CHORUS

It’s no surprise I lost
When winning's what you want at all cost
