This song seemed to be just waiting to be written. Like the sculptor sees a shape inside a block of wood waiting to come out. It all just came together painlessly in a few short hours.

WATER INTO WINE
The warmth has left the day
Replaced by a lifeless ray
And the chill has caught be by surprise
A bitter pill with no compromise
This cold is all that’s left
My emptiness confirms the theft
Of a love once so full of hope
A fall from grace on an icy slope
CHORUS
I was living on borrowed pride
I can’t hang on to what isn’t mine
Don’t criticise if you’ve never tried
Turning water into wine
A frigid winter is on display
To numb the heart that lost its way
And the twist there’s nowhere left to turn
It’s so strange to think that ice can burn
CHORUS
I dread to think where I’d be right now
If it wasn’t for you
I haven’t a clue
You dug me out with your love snowplough
You wrapped me up and warmed me through
So thank you for being here
Saved me from my own worst fear
That my love would never live again
Or share a joke I have to explain
CHORUS
